Senior Safety Manager (m/f/d)
Lead and ensure all local WHS actions required for launching Fulfillment Centers in the Middle Europe region are actioned, including establishing regional WHS action plans as needed. Recruit the WHS managers and teams for launch sites. Lead the WHS teams for launch sites until operational handover to regional WHS management, including on-boarding, training and managing performance driven issues. Ensure current Fulfillment Center safety programs are included in site launches e.g. ensure compliance to safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency. Ensure all launch communications and actions are completed for Road to Launch playbooks. Be a net contributor to EU Customer Fulfillment WHS leadership and functional progression. Ensure compliance to EU and Country law as it applies to Occupational Safety for the new FC's. Establish and oversee safety performance metrics reporting and communication for all launch sites until operational handover. Analyze accident data to predict top risks at launch sites and build prevention programs to impact accident trends. Assist General Managers and WHS Managers to set up the site safety management systems and culture through communication, training, and execution of the Safety & Environmental Programs at the new sites. Work with launch stakeholders as needed. Develop a positive working relationship with local authorities and regulators. Lead and be part of safety projects relating to the region and EU network. Maintain communication with law enforcement bodies and accident insurers. Maintain communication with Operational Directors and General Managers. Consult with works councils, safety committees as required.
Educated to degree level. Qualified and extensive H&S Management experience. Credibility and be able to effectively engage and influence other functional leaders and their teams, to build buy-in to EU H&S strategies and change processes. Used to operating at all levels of the organization from warehouse floor to board level. Solid communication and influencing skills - result orientated and tenacious. Fluency in German and English. An in-depth understanding of essential EU H&S legislation. Demonstrable record of driving significant change through an operation. Work experience in a low margin, high volume environment with warehousing and logistics beneficial. Lean, 5S, Behavioural Change and Kaizen experience. Environmental qualification/experience an advantage.
