Provide guidance and assist in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of Merz Data Protection policies and procedures in coordination with Merz management, the Country DPOs, the MPON and outside counsel and consultants. Maintain the GDPR required register of data processing processes for the Merz German entities and support the maintenance of such register for other EU entities. Support the Global legal team in preparing and revising data processing and data transfer agreements as needed to support the business with focus on the EU regulations. Perform and oversee initial and periodic information Privacy Impact Assessments and conduct related ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with Merz's other compliance, legal and operational assessment functions. Oversee and ensure the delivery of Data Protection training in the EMEA Region for Merz employees and other appropriate third parties. Establish and administer a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all Data Protection related complaints and data subject access rights for EMEA. Serve as primary contact for suspected data breaches in the EU and investigate, document such suspected breaches; make recommendation to Chief Privacy Officer regarding legal reporting requirements. Act as the point of contact for EU residents, data protection supervisory authorities and internal teams. Draft and manage data subject consents and fair information notices as required by law. Follow changes in data protection law and recommend changes for compliance.
